AQUARIUM EMPLOYEE ARRESTED AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULT ON MALE WALRUS

Bloomington, MN | A Sea Life Minnesota Aquarium employee is facing multiple charges of sexual misconduct towards an 800-pound male walrus planned to become one of the newest highlights of the aquarium.
Affectionately named Wally, the large marine mammal was to become the star of the theme park’s new Polar Adventure exhibit centered on animals from the Arctic Circle before allegations of sexual misconduct hit one their employees this week.

Video surveillance cameras captured footage of Kristian Stojberg, 38, an animal trainer originally from Denmark forcing himself upon the 800-pound walrus into several sexual activities.

The former employee also had previously boasted to other employees about ‘luring the animal into performing oral sex on him while rewarding him with fish’ before authorities were contacted by Minnesota Aquarium officials.

An ‘animal lover’
Kristian Stojberg has reportedly been “caught in the act” several times in similar situations before fleeing to America, according to his former employer at the National Denmark Aquarium.

“Kristian is definitely passionate about animals, a little bit too much if you ask me” his former employer, Soren Rasmussen said when reached by phone.

“We did what we could to help him fight this ‘deviance’. He underwent several therapy sessions but he was never fired because, at the time, bestiality was still legal in the country,” he explains.
“The laws at the time made it very complicated for the Aquarium to deal with such persons and we had several similar issues with other employees and the animals at the time,” he acknowledged.

In 2015, Danish authorities banned the act of bestiality which was until then permitted as long as the animals were not harmed.
